Caring for your new violin
A few simple habits will keep your instrument sounding its best.
Keep it in its case whenever you are not playing, away from pets, small children, and busy walkways.
Avoid extremes of temperature and humidity. Never leave it in a car, next to a radiator, or in direct sun by a window.
Wipe rosin dust off the strings and body with a dry, soft cloth after every session. Never use household cleaners or furniture polish.
Loosen the bow hair when you finish playing, and try not to touch the hair with your fingers.
